Channels
Slack
Connect a Slack app so the agent answers direct messages, @mentions and their threads.
Your agent can answer in Slack — useful for an internal help desk (HR, IT, sales questions) or a community workspace. Every Slack conversation lands in your Inbox like any other channel, and your team can reply from there.
Connect
- 1
Copy the manifest
Channels → Slack → Connect. Copy the app manifest shown there.
- 2
Create the Slack app
At api.slack.com/apps click Create New App → From a manifest, pick your workspace and paste it.
- 3
Install and copy credentials
Install to Workspace, then copy the Bot User OAuth Token (
xoxb-…, under OAuth & Permissions) and the Signing Secret (Basic Information → App Credentials) into AnytimeReply. - 4
Point Slack at us
Copy the Events URL AnytimeReply shows into Event Subscriptions → Request URL in Slack, switch it on and save. Slack checks it right away (reinstall the app if Slack asks).
Where it answers
- Direct messages to the bot — always.
- @mentions in channels it was invited to (
/invite @your-bot). It replies in a thread under the message and keeps answering follow-ups in that thread without another mention. - Every message in channels the bot was added to (optional) — each new message gets an answer in a thread.
It never answers other bots, its own messages or edits. Every request from Slack is checked against your signing secret.
Want team alerts about leads and handoffs in a Slack channel instead? That's a Slack incoming webhook under your agent's Integrations page — see Webhooks.
