Actions & automation

Actions overview

Let the agent check orders, book meetings and manage billing — with verification, confirmation and approval.

Open Build → Actions. Actions let the agent do things for customers instead of only talking. They're available on plans that include actions.

Ways to add actions

The page has these tabs: API actions, Connections & integrations, Approvals, Run log, Verified customers and Buttons & forms.

Safety rules (per action)

RuleWhat it does
What it doesReads or changes something. Read-only actions are switched on when you add them; actions that change data start off.
Who can use itAnyone, or only verified customers (see below).
Ask the customer to confirm firstFor actions that change something, the agent explains what it will do and runs it only after the customer replies yes.
A team member approves each runThe request waits in the chat and under Approvals; your team is alerted, and the customer hears back automatically when you approve or reject it.
Keep only these fieldsTrims a long answer to the fields that matter, e.g. status, tracking.url.
Max runs per chat per hourStops loops and abuse.
Only inside proceduresThe agent can use it only while following a procedure.

Verified customers

A customer counts as verified when they:

  • write from WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, Telegram or email (the channel proves who they are);
  • are signed in on your website with identity verification;
  • type a 6-digit code the agent emails them (valid for 10 minutes), or
  • are vouched for by your server through the API's verified_email.

The verified email is filled into the request as {customer_email} — the AI can't change it. Details of verified contacts can be used too, e.g. {contact.id} or {contact.plan}.

Show results nicely

Choose Show the answer as a widget in an action's settings to display its result as a card, list, table or tracker. See Widgets.

Test and logs

  • Test runs an action once and shows the request, answer and time.
  • Run log lists every run from chats, flows, approvals and tests, with failure rates per action.

Use actions elsewhere

  • In a flow: an API call step runs an action and continues on OK or Failed.
  • In a procedure: steps can require an action and enforce limits and approvals.
